Needle to Feed Timing Adjustment

Note: The following procedure will
affect machine hook timing – only do
the following if necessary, when feed
timing is not correct!
Loosen the
Phillip's screw that holds the idler which
provides tension on the timing belt.
Push the idler out of the way.
2.
Slide the timing belt off of the lower
shaft gear.
3.
Turn the hand wheel
toward you
so
the tip of the needle is touching the
surface of the needle plate.
Never turn
the hand wheel backward.
The needle
should be going down in its sewing
motion.
4.
Turn the lower shaft
toward you
so
the feed dogs are level with the top of
the needle plate when going in their
downward rotation.
Never turn the gear
backward
.
The feed dogs should be
going down in their sewing motion.
