Perform the following to remove and replace CBP pump impeller.
Impeller Removal
A.
Remove impeller nut.
If using a 1 1/16-in socket and impact driver (set CCW):
1.
a)
Hold impeller by hand. (Use proper PPE.)
b)
Using 1 1/16-in socket and impact driver (set CCW), loosen nut.
If using a 1 1/16-in (or adjustable) wrench and strap wrench:
2.
a)
Hold impeller with a strap wrench.
b)
Using 1 1/16-in (or adjustable) wrench, loosen (turn CCW) nut.
Remove nut.
3.
DO NOT STRIKE THE IMPELLER. STRIKING THE IMPELLER MAY RESULT IN IRREPA-
RABLE DAMAGE.
B.
Remove NORD-lock washers.
(Note grooves verses wedges orientation for installation purposes.)
C.
Remove impeller.
Pull impeller off pump shaft by hand if possible.
1.
If impeller can NOT be removed by hand, use wedges and puller to pull
2.
impeller. Loosen impeller as follows:
a)
Install puller on impeller. (See APPENDIX B, Test Equipment And Special Tool In-
formation on page B–1.)
