BIDI optical transceivers use different central wavelengths in the transmitting and receiving
directions, and thereby support bi-directional transmission of optical signals through the same
fiber.

The BIDI modules must be used in pairs. If an SFP-GE-LX-SM1310-BIDI is used at one end, an
SFP-GE-LX-SM1490-BIDI must be used at the other end.
