Using the Receiver

On-screen status display

When you press the

.

button once, the STATUS

menu containing the name of the selected channel
index, the programme position number, the station
name, the signal frequency and polarization, the
audio setting, the date and time, and the option for
calling up the main menu (with

.

), appears briefly

on the picture screen.

In the receiver's display appears one after the other
the frequency and polarization of the current station
and the statio name.

Stored channel indexes

Your receiver is already pre-programmed for the
current channels of many satellites (see program-
me list). In most cases, a correction is not required.

You can of course also receive channels which are
not preset in the receiver's memory (see chapter
"Establishing a new Programme Position").
How to edit the channel index according to your
preferences can be found in the chapter "Selecting
your favourite satellite channels”

When switching the receiver on from standby, the
channel index and programme position which have
been selected before switching off are automatically
recalled (Last Station Memory).

You have the choice between 7 channel indices:

NORMAL:
In this channel index, all preprogrammed channels
are stored. If you wish to change programme
position settings, this will always be done in the
NORMAL channel index.

FAVOURITE/RADIO:
You can store your favourite satellite channels in
five favourite indexes so that you can select the
channels via the lowest programme positions with-
out resorting the entire channel index. The favourite
indexes contain a channel choice made in the nor-
mal index.

The 5 favourite channel indexes are preprogram-
med with the 20 “most attractive” channels of one
language group (Englisch, German, Spanish, Portu-
guese and Italian) each and identified by the res-
pective language. The radio channel index contains
20 radio channels. It is established in the same way
as the other favourite indexes.

You can change the designation of the channel
index, the channels contained therein and the chan-
nel order to suit your taste. Up to five persons can
establish their own favourite channel index and give
it a unique name (see ”Selecting your favourite
satellite channels”).

Selecting a channel index and a
programme position

button on the remote control unit

or the

between the different channel indexes (normal,

For every channel index, the receiver switches auto-
matically to the last selected programme position
(Last Station Memory).

On the picture screen appears the selected channel
index and the number and the name of the current
programme position.

Using the

] |

you can select another programme position for the
current channel index.

Adjusting the volume

Pressing the

x

button or the

c

button calls up the

”VOLUME” menu.

In the receiver's display appears, for example,
"

VOLUME 24

"

The adjusted volume is only effective with the
”TV/VCR”, ”AUDIO OUT” and the ”TV” EURO-AV
socket. It has no effect on the EURO-AV sockets for
video recorder (AUX 2) and decoder (AUX 1).

You can adjust the volume level with the

x c

buttons between 0 and 32.

Save the set value by pressing the

O

button.

You can cancel the adjustment with the

.

button if

it is not yet saved.

If you do not press the

.

or

O

button, the menu

is exited after a few seconds. The set value remains
effective until you switch to standby. The old setting
then is recovered.

Pressing the

¢

+

button when you are in the SAT

mode mutes the sound. Press the button again to
recover the sound.

In the top right corner of the picture screen appears
”MUTE” as long as the sound is muted.
