Inserting the battery in the remote
control unit

Insert the battery as shown in the figure (make sure
to insert it with correct polarity as marked on the
bottom of the battery compartment).

If the receiver does no longer correctly correspond
to remote control commands, the battery might be
exhausted.

It is absolutely necessary to remove the exhausted
battery.
We can assume no liability for damage due to a
leaking battery.

Switching on

Switch on your television.

Switch on the receiver with one of the buttons

on the receiver or one of the buttons

]

on the remote control unit.

– The last selected programme appears automati-

cally (Last Station Memory).

control unit to directly enter the number of the de-
sired programme position.
– The receiver is automatically switched on with the

last selected channel index (favourite, radio or
normal index).

Switching off

Turn off the receiver by pressing the

button on

the remote control unit or the

button on the

front of the receiver.

The receiver's display indicates "

Standby

" if it

is in standby mode.

Unless you are disconnecting the power lead, the
receiver will not be disconnected from the mains
(see chapter ”Installation and Security”).

Tuning the TV set and video
recorder to the receiver

This adjustment can be omitted if you have con-
nected the receiver via a EURO-AV connecting lead
to the television or video recorder.

Select a free channel position on your TV and tune to
UHF channel 37 (the receiver's output channel). For
this, refer to the instruction book of your TV.

If this channel is already being used by a TV chan-
nel or a different unit (say, your video recorder),
you will see interference if the other equipment is
operating.
Retune your TV to an unused part of its range
(channel number 21 to 69).

Switch the receiver to standby using the

button

on the remote control unit or the

button on its

front.

Press for approximately 6 seconds on the

button on the remote control. The receiver's display
indicates "

Use the

c x

or the numeric buttons to tune the

receiver to the same channel as the TV receiver.

The "TV/VCR" modulator output (at the rear of the
receiver) delivers a test picture. This will assist you
in tuning to the corresponding channel on the TV
set. This is also possible if no satellite programme
is received.

Finetune the picture and sound on your TV receiver.

Press the

button to store the setting. The recei-

ver switches to standby. Pressing the

button

cancels the entry and recovers the old value.

The test picture is no longer emitted.

Tune in the same way a free programme position of
the video recorder to the receiver ouptut channel.

Preparation

On-screen menu guide

When pressing the

button on the remote control

unit once, the STATUS menu appears briefly on the
picture screen.

This status menu contains: the indication of the
active channel index (e.g. Favourite DEUTSCH), the
programme position number with the associated
station name, programme position settings (trans-
mission frequency of the satellite, polarization and
audio setting), day of the week and time.

Press the

button on the control unit twice.

– The ”MAIN MENU” appears.

Use the numeric buttons to call up the submenus.

Use the

] |

buttons to select the data you wish

to change.

Use the

x c

buttons (in some cases also the

numeric buttons) to change the data.
