Section 6 — L-S Series Panel Operation
Multi Source Breakaway
The following procedure is used to switch multiple Sources as a single-take
breakaway. For example, switching to video from one Source and left and
right audio from another Source with one Take.
1.
Confirm the desired Destination appears in the Destination window. If
not, see
Selecting a Destination to be Controlled
on page 135
.
2.
Set up the first Source:
a.
Toggle ON the Level button(s) for the level(s) to switch to the first
Source. In this example, only the video level button would be ON.
The bottom row of the Status window will show the name of the
highest numbered level that will switch.
b.
Pre-select first Source using the procedure described in
Selecting a
Source
on page 136
, but do NOT press the
Take
button.
The Preset window will show the name of the pre-selected Source for
the selected level(s).
3.
Set up the second Source:
a.
Toggle OFF the Level buttons that were selected above, and toggle
ON only the level button(s) for the level(s) to switch to the second
Source. In this example, only the Left and Right audio level buttons
would be ON.
b.
Pre-select second Source using the procedure described in
Selecting
a Source
on page 136
, and at this time complete the procedure by
pressing the
Take
button.
Different Sources will be switched to each of the levels of the Destination.

If sticky mode is OFF, the panel will return to “all levels selected” after
each switch and show the status of Level 1 (typically the video level). If
sticky mode is ON, the level(s) selected will remain the same for subse-
quent switches. For more information about sticky mode, see
page 139

Checking Breakaway Status
To check the status of individual levels:
1.
Toggle OFF the level button(s) that are lower-numbered than the level
to be statused. For example, if you want to check the status for Level 2
(For example, Left Audio), toggle OFF Level 1 (For example, video). Or,
if you want to check the status for Level 3 (e.g., Right Audio), toggle
OFF Level 1 and Level 2.
