Optical Couplers

(Reference 

Figure 113

) The optical coupler inputs respond to a differential 

voltage between the two input pins. The signal leg contains a series current-
limiting resistors that were selected to provide between 1.75mA and 
13.6mA of LED drive current at voltages of 5 to 28 volts (AC or DC).

Electrical Limitations

The GPI/O has the following limitations:

•

GPI Electrical limitations: 24V (max) @13.6mA

•

GPO Electrical limitations: 0-100V @ 300mA (max)

Note

The GPO can handle a maximum of 300mA.
