Verifying Interconnect
Cable Integrity
3.
Reconnect DC power to the transmitter.
4.
Verify that the transmitter conductivity reading is full-
scale for the applicable range. Also, verify that the
transmitter temperature reading is 0
°
C.
If these readings are achieved, the transmitter is operating
properly, but the interconnect cable (if used) may be faulty.
1.
After disconnecting DC power, reconnect the sensor
directly to the transmitter (purposely bypassing the in-
terconnect cable and junction box, if used).
2.
Place the sensor in a container of known value conduc-
tivity reference solution that is at room temperature.
3.
Reconnect DC power to the transmitter.
4.
Verify that the transmitter conductivity reading is the
same as the known reference solution value. If the
reading is achieved, the interconnect cable and/or junc-
tion box connections are probably faulty. Use a digital
multimeter to check the interconnect cable for shorted
or open wires.
