Safety procedures in confined spaces
Danger!
Manure produces toxic gases that can lead to death in seconds. When
agitated, manure produces heavy toxic gases such as hydrogen
sulphide (H2S), carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and ammonia
(NH3). Before performing work in confined spaces, it is MANDATORY
to read and follow the Safety Procedures concerning Confined Spaces
available in the websites listed below. These safety procedures
explain the risks related to manure and how to safely access confined
spaces such as a manure pit, a reservoir, etc.
