2.4.13 Soft Starter
When the RUN contact closes the soft starter ramps up the motor to the programmed
speed. When the RUN contact opens, the soft starter ramps down the motor to a stop.
To program the MM3 Motor Manager 3 for soft starter, set:

RAMP UP TIME

RAMP DOWN TIME
setpoints appear when
starter type
has been
selected as “SOFT STARTER”. See the MM3 Motor Manager 3 sequence below for details on
functionality.
Start:
1.
Start command received by the MM3 Motor Manager 3 (serial, switch input or
faceplate).
2.
Close and maintain contactor A output relay – provide power to the soft
starter.
3.
Wait for one second.
