HP Deskjet Color Printer Installation Procedure
1.) Place the HP Deskjet Color Printer on a convenient, stable surface beside the Vivid 3N ultrasound
unit.
2.) Connect the Parallel Port Cable, and the appropriate branch of the Dual AC Power Cable, to the
applicable sockets on the rear of the printer, as shown in
Figure 8-142 "HP Deskjet Printer
Connections" on page 8-155
.
WARNING: To avoid electrical hazards, the HP Deskjet Color Printer must be connected to the
AC Supply of the Vivid 3N Ultrasound Unit and
never directly to the local AC wall outlet
.

3.) Re-install the Connectors Panel cover as shown in
8-2-5-4 "Connector Panels Cover Installation
Procedure" on page 8-8

4) Reconnect the mains AC power cable from the wall outlet.
5) Turn ON the main circuit breaker located on rear of the Vivid 3N.
6) Turn ON the Vivid 3N by pressing the ON/OFF button on the Control Console.
7.) Select the activation key under System Configuration, Printers Tab and choose the required printer
settings. For more information on switching printer settings, see
3-8-8 "Printers Tab" on page 3-42

HP Deskjet Color Printer Removal Procedure
1.) Remove the Connectors Panel cover as shown in
8-2-5-3 "Connector Panels Cover Removal
Procedure" on page 8-8
.
2.) Disconnect the Parallel Port Cable, and the appropriate branch of the Dual AC Power Cable from
the sockets at the rear of the printer (see
Figure 8-142
, above).
3.) Remove the HP Deskjet Color Printer.
