JVC VCR Installation Procedure
1.) Remove the white metal shelf from inside the side compartment (located on the
left
side of the
control console) as described on
page 8-17
.
2.) Discard the shelf.
3.) Raise the control console to its
maximum
height and remove the console bottom cover (upper
section) as described on
8-2-10-3 "Control Console Bottom Cover (Upper Section) Removal
Procedure" on page 8-17
.
4.) Connect the VCR cables (listed below) to the appropriate sockets on the VCR rear panel (as shown
in
Figure 8-113
):

Audio Output
-
Video Input (YC IN)
-
Video Output (YC OUT)
-
RS-232C
5.) Connect the VCR AC power cable to the AC Input socket on the VCR rear panel (upper
left
corner
- not visible in
Figure 8-113
).
NOTE:
When connecting the AC Power cable to the VCR, use the adaptor supplied with the VCR.
6.) Route all the cables through the slot at the rear of the compartment, gently pulling them in a
downwards
direction.
At the same time
, carefully slide the VCR into the side compartment (while
feeding the cables through the slot).
7.) Check that the VCR fits properly in position and does not extend beyond the edge of the side
compartment - see
Figure 8-114 "JVC VCR Installed in Compartment" on page 8-131
.
8.) Remove the protective backing from the adhesive velcro strip (supplied with the VCR) and fix the
strip firmly in position along the edge of the compartment, as shown in
Figure 8-114 "JVC VCR
Installed in Compartment" on page 8-131
.
NOTE:
The adhesive velcro strip serves to hold the VCR securely in place whenever the
Vivid 3
ultrasound
unit is moved.
