Verify after every flight
Check the following items right before any flight:
1.
Check all screw connections for firm fit (also see page 16).
2.
Check the tooth backlash between the motor pinion and the main pinion. Pay special attention to excessive wear or
defective teeth.
3.
Check the drive gear of the tail rotor (also see page 16).
4.
Check the correct and secure fit of the electronics components (also see page 16).
5.
Check all shafts and ball bearings for easy and correct run (also see page 16).
6.
Check the temperature of motor, battery and speed controller.
Important!
Let the motor and speed controller cool off to ambience temperature before starting again with a charged spare
flight battery.
Thorough maintenance
1.
Check if any screws have loosened or components are no longer firmly screwed on.
2.
Check the tooth backlash between the motor pinion and the main pinion. Particularly check if the motor has come loose
so that the teeth of the two pinions no longer interlock cleanly.
3.
Check the tooth backlash at the tail rotor drive. The pinions must force-interlock but still run smoothly.
4.
Observe clean run of the various shafts. Even slight ground contact of the rotor blades may lead to considerable shaft
deformation.
5.
Check all ball bearings for clean run. Bearings that issue a „rolling“ or „crunching“ feel when operated manually must
be replaced as well as any visibly damaged ball bearings.

Upper figure:
The figure shows disassembly of the main rotor shaft. The individual work steps are marked with numbers in the drawing.
1.
Remove the screws of the swash plate guide #208876 and remove the swash plate guide.
2.
Disconnect the three linkage rods for the swash plate from the servo levers.
3.
Remove the rotor shaft screw #208864 from the main gear.
4.
Loosen the grub screws #208865 at the rotor shaft collar.
5.
Pull the rotor shaft and the rotor head from the mechanics upwards.
6.
Remove the rotor head screw #208850 and remove the rotor head from the shaft.
Lower figure:
The figure shows disassembly of the main gear. The individual work steps are marked with numbers in the drawing.
1.
Remove the main rotor shaft first (see top).
2.
Remove the collar #208368 at the bottom of the main gear.
3.
Remove the three screws #208855 and remove the centre piece #208360.
4.
Remove the spacer disc #208883.
5.
After removing the screws #208858, the bottom piece #208358 and the freewheel can be removed.
Attention!
To insert the freewheel again correctly alter, we recommend marking the lower side with a fibre pen. For assembly,
the centre piece #208360 must be oiled according to the drawing.
