4. Adjustment

4-13. [F4]: CCD Defect Correction Adjustment
<<Important>>
The defect data for the camera to be adjusted is
necessary before CCD defect correction adjust-
ment. CCD defect correction adjustment is required
when either the LENS CONST or the MAIN PWB
ASSY is replaced. The defect data is obtained differ-
ently for these two cases. Make the adjustments af-
ter reading the following.
[Obtaining CCD defect data]
1. When replacing the LENS CONST.
Use the CCD defect data on the floppy disk provided
with the replacement LENS CONST.
2. When replacing the MAIN PWB ASSY.
Note the serial number of the CCD on the camera to
be adjusted, find the CCD defect data for the serial
number in the CCD defect data file, and copy that
data to the floppy disk. See the Appendix for details
of preparing a new floppy disk.

Prepare the defect data floppy disk before begin-
ning CCD defect correction adjustment.
<Step 1>
Select
[F4]
from
[Adjustment Select Screen (Fig.4)]
(ie
press the [F4] key on the computer).
---> The
[CCD Defect Correction Adjustment Start Screen
(Fig.15)]
is displayed.
<Step 2>
Follow the instructions on the [CCD Defect Correction
Start Screen (Fig.15)], and make the following prepara-
tions.
(1) Prepare the CCD defect data floppy disk for the cam-
era to be adjusted.
(2) Enter the 8-digit CCD serial number (Fig.15-(1)) in
the Defect Data Input dialog box. The file extension
(.dat) need not be entered.
(3) Insert the floppy disk in the A: drive (floppy disk drive)
on the computer.
When preparations are complete, press the [Enter] key
on the computer.
Click on the [OK] button (Fig.15-(2)).
--->CCD defect correction adjustment begins.
---> Save the adjusted data to the flash ROM when adjust-
ment is completed normally.
---> The
[CCD Defect Correction Complete Screen (Fig.16)]
is displayed when the adjusted data is saved normally.
<Step 3>
Press the [Enter] key on the computer while in the [CCD
Defect Correction Complete Screen (Fig.16)].
---> The
[Adjustment Select Screen (Fig.4)]
is displayed.

Ensure that CAM adjustment
→
AF adjustment
→
Flash adjustment is performed with CCD defect cor-
rection adjustment.
