1 Description
1.1 General
The Forum B + V Oil Tools Elevator is designed with
strength and safety factors in accordance with API Section
8C - Regulations and will be used for handling drill collar
or tubing.
- This manual is applicable for manually operated
elevator type SDL-100 and SDL-150.
- SDL-Elevators have a fixed diameter (bore code)
machined into the elevator body.

1.2 Design Specification
The Side Door Elevator is designed as a hoist for installing
and transporting pipe constructions, drill rods and drill
pipes. The Side Door Elevator is weight-optimised. In
addition, it is possible to attach a Single Joint Elevator
below the SDL. Thereby, many lifting tasks can be carried
out with an elevator one after the other. Better swivelling
capability is enabled with round holders for the links.
These will hold the pipes better.
● Material and manufacturing standard in accordance to
ISO 13535:2002/API 8C
1.3 Identification
The identification area clearly identifies the Elevator
area (manufacturer, type, material, part number, API-
license number, serial number, date of manufacture). It is
important to keep this information ready for the purpose
of servicing and repair work.
