5.8.3 Minimum ear dimensions
WARNING
Minimum ear dimensions are only valid when the elevator is in otherwise good condition, does not have
excessive wear, cracks or other defects or previous weld repair and has not been misused. This inspection criteria can not
on their own determine the overall condition of the elevator and suitability for continued use.

5.8.4 Hinge and Latch wear data criteria
Normal wear through use can anytime lead to limited usability of the elevators. Visible cracks and damages can indicate
serious damage, even of an impending breakage. In such cases, deal with the problem immediately. Either the elevator
must be put out of operation or the required repair work must be undertaken.
In case of excessive wear, please contact Forum B + V Oil Tools or an authorised service centre.
Welding work on cast parts must be carried out exclusively byForum B + V Oil Toolsor an authorised service centre
according to the welding procedure recommended by Forum B + V Oil Tools.
If the elevator is damaged to an extent where repair is not possible, it must be put out of operation as soon as possible.
