Procedure for the dismantling:
5. Disconnect the elevator and position the elevator on a
firm and sturdy ground.
6. Clean all surfaces of dust and foreign matter.
7. Dismantle the door by unscrewing the Dowel Pin (see
the side 21 for Disassembling of the Dowel Pins) used
for fixing the hinge pin and then push out the hinge
pin. If it is difficult to move the hinge pin merely by
pushing, you must use a hammer to tap it gently.
8. To remove the latch pin and the catch pin, you
must remove the Dowel pin and push them out as
described under Point 3.
9. When dismantling the lock, pay attention to the latch
system springs.

Proceedure for installing the elevator:
1. First mount the door. To do this, fix the latch by
knocking in the latch pin and thereby, note the exact
position of the springs of the latch system. Fix the
latch pin with the set screw.
2. Knock the catch pin into the body and fix the catch
pin with the set screw.
3. Lift the door and place it in the door hinge of the
body so that the holes are aligned. Knock in the hinge
pin and fix it with the Dowel pin.

5.7.1 Extraordinary inspections
After critical loads
Before and after critical tasks (e.g. operation with heavy
housings and drill strings, vibrations, pulling jammed pipes
and/or working at extremely low temperatures), carry out a
complete inspection in compliance with API RP 8B of Class
III or IV. Extremely low temperatures: <-20 °C (<68 °F)
5.7.2 Inspection after dismounting
Carry out a general inspection of the SDL, when the
elevator again returns to the support point, bearing etc.
If dismantling is required, do this in a workshop with
appropriate equipment. Also inspect the SDL before next
use. Carry out the inspection after dismounting as follows:
1. Before inspection, clean all surfaces to be inspected.
To do that, using suitable methods, remove foreign
matter such as dust, paint, lubricants, oil, chips etc.
2. Carry out a visual inspection of the elevator for
excessive wear (cracks, defects and deformation).
3. Carry out a visual inspection of springs for excessive
wear and apparent weak points.
