Changing the battery
The battery is located on the right side of the central module housing under the lower
cover (see Fig 6.1 Position of the battery).
Caution
Bent contact springs can lead to short circuit of the battery.
Proceed carefully when replacing the battery. Do not use force.

You change the battery as follows:
1.
Prepare the diagnostic controller for the battery change by saving the battery-buffered
configuration and statistical data (see the system description "Festo Energy Monitor-
ing (GFDM)).
Note
If this data is not saved, the statistical data will be irretrievably lost.
The diagnostic module will also need to be reconfigured.
2.
Switch off the power supply to the controller.
3.
Remove the peripheral modules (see Section A.5.3).
4.
Remove the lower cover on the right side of the central module housing.
5.
Remove the old battery with the help of anti-static plastic tweezers. To do this, posi-
tion the tweezers at the point indicated by the arrow (see Bild 6.1 Position der Bat-
terie).
6.
Insert a new battery at position 1 and engage at position 2. When doing this, make
sure that the battery engages in the upper and lower retaining collets.
7.
Close the battery cover.
