Air conditioning and ventilation
The top and bottom of the module have ventilation slits for heat dissipation. An external
fan is not needed if the permissible ambient temperature is adhered to.
Caution
Damage or malfunction if the permissible operating temperature is
exceeded.
Note the following information:
Do not obstruct the ventilation slits.
Do not install the device directly above a heat source such as a radiator, current con-
verter or high-wattage resistor, for example.
Maintain a clearance of at least 30 mm above and below the modules to ensure heat
dissipation.
Make sure that the operating temperature inside the control cabinet does not exceed
the permissible ambient temperature for the modules. Provide air conditioning for the
control cabinet if sufficient cooling cannot be guaranteed through natural heat dissipa-
tion.
When arranging the components in the control cabinet, take care that the area around
the temperature inputs is not exposed to any temperature fluctuations. For example,
do not use any air conditioning units with intermittent operation.
See the section "Technical data" for further information on calculating the total power
loss in the control cabinet.
Using air filters
Avoid severe contamination of the air filter. Clean the air filter regularly.
Recommendation: Install the device in a dust-free, closed control
cabinet. If the control cabinet has ventilation openings, these must
be fitted with air filters. Make sure that the filter elements are
cleaned or replaced at regular intervals.
