Highlight the newly registered database by clicking on it in the list and then click on the "Set as Default"
button. This will load the database automatically each time SonaSoft™ starts.
Acquiring a License
Acquiring a C-MAP Database License
C-MAP chart data is organized by Zone and Area. Separate licenses are required for each Zone/Area. A
license number can be obtained from C-MAP or a C-MAP distributor. Each license number is generated for
a specific database and C-MAP eToken. If you already have a C-MAP eToken dongle, the dongle ID number
must be provided to C-MAP. If not, dongles can be purchased from FarSounder or directly from C-MAP.
Enabling S-57/63 Support
An S-57/63 support license is needed to enable use of these charts within SonaSoft™. This license can be
purchased from FarSounder. After applying the S-57/63 support license, S-57/63 charts can be imported
via the 'ENCImporter' tool.
Applying a C-MAP Database License
After registering a database, it is time to apply a license to it so that the data can be decrypted. Start by
clicking on the "Licenses" tab at the top of the panel. The "Licenses" panel will now be displayed as in
Figure 24.
