15. FW - BOARD FIRMWARE
The XUSB module (accessory) and a suitable USB
memory device (not supplied) can be used to load the
firmware (FW) to the board.
USB device requirements
Maximum power consump-
tion 500 mA. Formatted with the FAT or FAT 32 file sys-
tem (the board does not recognise other file systems).
Firmware (FW)
The E124S FW is supplied by FAAC in
a compressed file.
Extract the file and save it in the root of the USB device,
without changing the original filename as follows:

(revision number 01,02...)

15.1 INSERT THE XUSB WITH USB
With the power supply switched off, insert the XUSB
and the USB onto the E124S (
CONNECTIVITY
connectors),
then carry out the required procedure UPGRADE,
DOWNGRADE (specific section).

15.2 UPGRADE - LOAD THE NEW FW
This procedure is available when there is a more recent
FW version on the USB device compared to the one
on the board.
1. After having inserted the XUSB and USB, turn on
the board. The display shows

2. The FW update starts automatically.

The display shows the percentage of progress (

) and lastly, shows 2 alternating dashes (

).
3. To exit the procedure:

with the power supply switched off, remove the
USB; then switch the board back on and check the
FW version.
15.3 DOWNGRADE - LOAD A PREVIOUS
FW VERSION
This procedure is available when there is the same or
an older version of the FW on the USB device compared
to the one on the board.
1. After having inserted the XUSB and USB, turn on
the board.

Errors
If there is an error, the LED DL1 on XUSB flashes quickly. With the
power supply switched off, remove the USB and check the files
present, then insert the USB and repeat the procedure.
