● Begin screwing the housing back onto the manifold and as it screws on carefully line up
the top ID of the new 10-micron filter cartridge with the molded OD of the manifold
opening.
● Finish screwing the clear housing onto the manifold. IF IT REQUIRES GREAT FORCE
THEN THE FILTER CARTRIDGE IS MISALIGNED OR THE THREADS ARE
CROSSED. DO NOT FORCE IT. REMOVE AND RETRY.
● Using the supplied filter wrench, tighten the clear housing the final ¼ turn. DO NOT
OVERTIGHTEN OR IT WILL BE VERY HARD TO GET OFF NEXT TIME.
● Shut the flush valve.
● Open the main manifold inlet valve and check for leaks to be sure that the new cartridge
IS installed correctly
Changing the Scale Stick
The scale stick cartridge must be changed when a visual check of the scale stick shows that
there is no white ablative material remaining in the internal scale cartridge.
Procure a new scale stick cartridge and then prepare to change the cartridge. Always use
genuine Everpure scale stick cartridges with the machine. Everpure supplies are available from
Everest or can be sourced locally. See specifications section of this manual for manufacturer’s
reference model numbers.
● Shut off main manifold inlet valve.
● Open flush valve to release system pressure.
● Using the supplied filter wrench, loosen the scale stick housing ¼ turn anti-clockwise.
● Using your hand (no filter wrench), carefully unscrew the scale stick housing until it
detaches from the manifold. DO NOT DROP IT.
● Remove the old empty scale stick cartridge, dump the water, and replace with the new
scale stick cartridge.
● Use the supplied extension adapters to duplicate the overall length of the old cartridge
so the new cartridge will fit correctly.
● Carefully locate the ID of the new scale stick cartridge over the molded plastic OD in the
bottom of the housing and make sure it drops down fully into the housing.
● Verify that the rubber “O” ring is seated correctly in the groove in the top of the housing.
● Begin screwing the housing back onto the manifold and as it screws on carefully line up
the top ID of the new scale stick cartridge with the molded OD of the manifold opening.
● Finish screwing the housing onto the manifold. IF IT REQUIRES GREAT FORCE THEN
THE SCALE STICK IS MISALIGNED OR THE THREADS ARE CROSSED. DO NOT
FORCE IT. REMOVE AND RETRY.
● Using the supplied filter wrench, tighten the housing the final ¼ turn. DO NOT
