●
Remove compression nut from water housing nozzle This will drain line from UV canister
to water housing.
●
Disassemble the UV assembly and store unit indoors.
Cleaning Procedure - Machine Exterior
The exterior of the machine should be cleaned with the mild detergent regularly. The cleaning
schedule is dependent on the conditions. Machines that are in dusty areas or near saltwater will
need cleaning more often. Exterior components of the machine that come into contact with or
are in close proximity to the ice or water must be cleaned and sanitized at least once per week.
Equipment and Supplies Required:
● Household unscented bleach
● Clean and sanitary bucket
● Mild household detergent
● Soft bristle brush that can be attached to an extendable handle
Cleaning the Machine’s Exterior:
● Wash the ice output chute (including the door), and the water housing and chute with
mild detergent.
● Wash the ice catch tray with mild detergent. Inspect the tray pan for any mold, dirt or
debris. Remove the stainless-steel grate and clean thoroughly if necessary.
● Rinse all washed areas thoroughly.
● Spray all washed components with the sanitizing solution.
Removing Rust From The Machine
The machine is made primarily from steel that will rust. It is coated with a tough powder coating
that is UV resistant and should last 20 years under normal conditions. However, because the
machine is steel, minor rust spots can develop and constant attention to repair minor rust spots
needs to be a part of the periodic maintenance schedule. Whenever you find an area with rust,
spray the area with a “rust fix” spray, or coat it with “rust fix” gel that turns the rust into a black
primer. At this point, you can spray paint this primer with “universal blend- sky blue” spray paint,
which can be provided by Everest or can be color matched by a local auto body shop and put
into spray cans.
Cleaning Procedure - Machine Interior
The interior components of the machine must be cleaned at least every three months. This
includes all components that come into contact with the ice or water. This includes all water
lines and fittings, filter components, the rotating barrel, the stationary saddle and the Scotsman
Ice Maker. Follow the procedures listed below.
