Thermal Stability
To produce high quality MR images, the O-scan system permanent
magnet must be kept at a constant temperature. The system is equipped
with a thermostat control circuit to maintain the magnet at a constant
temperature, at a value slightly higher than that of the ambient
temperature, provided that the unit remains connected to an AC power
source.
A green led on the front of the electronic cabinet indicates that the O-scan
system is powered.
To avoid disabling the thermal control circuit, do not switch off external
power unnecessarily.
If the electrical power mains must be disconnected due to an emergency
shutdown or for maintenance purposes, restore system power as soon as
possible: the system performs all checks required to ensure correct
conditions. If O-scan remains disconnected from the power supply for a
prolonged interval, the user must wait for the magnet to heat completely
before the system is ready to operate. The waiting time depends on the
starting temperature, but in any event could take a number of hours.
