Installation
Installation of the O-scan system must be carried out exclusively by
technical assistance personnel authorized by Esaote S.p.A.
To ensure efficient and safe operation of the O-scan system, the
installation procedures specified in this chapter must be strictly observed
as well as all instructions in the Service Manual.
System installation should comply with any applicable federal, state and
local regulations regarding medical devices.
Structural Requirements of the Installation Area
The minimum recommended clearances to assure that patients can be
accommodated comfortably and for the User to properly operate the
equipment is an area of around 2.7 x 3.7 m
2
(around 8.85 x 12.14 square
feet) including electronic unit and operation console or 2,5 x 3,2 m
2
(around 8,20 x 10,5 square feet) excluding electronic unit and operating
console.
The floor must be of sufficient capacity to withstand the weight of the
system, i.e. approx. 1700 Kg including two people: the operator and the
patient.
If the floor capacity exceeds 420 Kg/m
2
, the equipment can be installed
without any special provisions, taking care not to overload the area
occupied by the device.

A preliminary inspection by an authorized Esaote S.p.A. technician is
required to verify minimum installation requirements.

If the load capacity of the installation area floor is inadequate, it must
be reinforced to achieve the required capacity.
