1. General
Your new Visual Data Manager (VDM) is constructed with a built-in operating manual!
The simple operating concept of the unit enables a large number of applications to be
set up easily almost without the need for paper. Your VDM displays operating hints on
screen at the touch of a button!
However, this operating manual is still important - it is an extension to the instructions
built into the unit. Here items that cannot be described on the unit in text form or
selection lists are explained.
Alterations that expand the technical capabilities are reserved. In this case details
can differ from those contained in these instructions. This is no longer a problem as
the operating manual is always included in the VDM.
Chapters 4 “INSTALLATION/CONNECTION/SETTING UP” and 5 “SETTING UP UNIT”
describe the in/output connections as well as the programming/settings and the
respective functions.
Chapter 6 “HANDLING IN OPERATION” describes how the final set up unit can be
used, what information is available and how to access this and how to get the best
results from the diskette drive.

Please compare the order code on the legend plate (on the unit) with that on the
delivery note.

- Unit (with plug-in screw terminal blocks for power and signal connection,
dependent on the order)
- 2 jack screws for panel mounting
- 1 screw driver, blade size 2.5 mm
- PC operation and setting up software
- Delivery note
Please inform your supplier immediately if anything is missing.
