NOTE
Handle the new contact with care to avoid bending the wires. The wires must
remain straight for proper installation.
7. Uncoil the new contact assembly. Install the assembly into the ceramic
insulator from the process end. See Figure 6-6 for correct insertion
orientation. A gentle twisting motion will aid wire insertion. When the end
of the wire reaches the spring, guide the wire through the center of the
spring coils.
8. When properly installed, the pad diameter will be concentric with the
end of the ceramic insulator. See Figure 6-7 for correct placement.
9. Locate the clear Teflon sleeve in the replacement kit. If the end of the
Teflon sleeve is not cut cleanly, use a new razor knife to cut off a small
portion. Cut no more than 1/16 inch (1,6 mm) from the sleeve end.
