The machine is labelled according to EU Directive 2012/19/
EU for waste that includes electrical and electronic
equipment (WEEE).
Waste electrical and electronic equipment contains both
polluting substances (that could harm the environment) and
basic components (which can be reused). It is important
to dispose of waste that includes electrical and electronic
equipment in the right way so that all polluting substances
are processed correctly and all materials are collected and recycled. As an
individual you can also help to ensure that waste that includes electrical
and electronic equipment does not harm the environment, so it is extremely
important that you follow certain basic rules:
• Waste that includes electrical and electronic equipment must not be
disposed of with general household waste.
• Waste that includes electrical and electronic equipment must instead
be taken to an appropriate public or private recycling centre. In many
countries it is possible to arrange the collection of bulky waste that
includes electrical and electronic equipment.
In many countries you can also return a worn-out appliance to the store
when you buy a new one. The retailer is then obliged to collect the appliance
at no extra cost as long as it is of the same product type and has the same
purpose as the original appliance.
