Washing load tips
WARNING! Things to keep in mind
when sorting laundry:
– remove any metal items from
clothing, such as buckles, needles
or coins;
– button up pillowcases that have
buttons, close zippers, tie the ends
of loose belts and long straps;
– remove hooks or rings from
curtains;
– read the care labels carefully;
– remove any stubborn stains with
stain remover.
•
When washing rugs, bedding
or other heavy fabrics, it is
recommended that you do not spin
dry them.
•
When washing wool, check that the
garment is machine washable and
that it has the “Pure new wool” label
and the symbols for “Wool wash” or
“Machine wash”.
Advice for users
This describes how to use the appliance
in an environmentally friendly and
economical way.
Wash a full load
•
You save energy, water, detergent
and time by using the machine to
wash a full load. You save up to
50% energy by washing a full load
instead of two half loads.
Does your laundry need a prewash?
•
A prewash is only needed if laundry
is very dirty! SAVE detergent, time,
water and 5–15% energy by NOT
choosing a prewash for lightly to
normally soiled laundry.
What temperature do you need?
•
Remove stains with stain remover or
soak before washing to reduce the
need for high temperatures. You can
save up to 50% energy by choosing
a 60°C programme.
Below is a quick guide with tips and
recommendations on detergent use for
different temperatures. You should also
read the instructions and dosage guides
for the detergent you are using.
For heavily soiled white wash, we
recommend a cotton wash programme at
60°C
or above, usually with powder detergent
(for heavily soiled laundry) with added bleach
for washing at medium/high temperatures.
For washing between 40°C and 60°C
, you
should choose a detergent suitable for the
fabrics you are washing and the degree of
soiling. Common powder detergents are
suitable for white and colour-fast garments
that are heavily soiled, while liquid detergents
or “colour-preserving” powder detergents are
suitable for coloured fabrics that are lightly
soiled.
For washing below 40°C
, we recommend
the use of liquid detergents or detergents
labelled for washing at low temperatures.
For washing wool or silk,
we recommend
detergents formulated specially for these
fabrics.
