5.5 Decontaminating the Stainer and Carousels
Decontaminating the Reagent D Bottle

Fill the reagent D (deionized or distilled water) bottle with a fresh (< 24
hours old) 10% dilution of household bleach solution (5.25% sodium
hypochlorite).

Allow the bleach solution to react in the bottle for 10 minutes.

Rinse the bottle thoroughly with tap water.

Rinse the bottle thoroughly with deionized or distilled water to remove all
of the decontamination solution.
