About this manual

Documentation concept

This manual contains all information about the XI/ON gateway for EtherNet/IP of the product
series XI/ON ECO (XNE-GWBR-2ETH-IP).

The following chapters contain a short XI/ON system description, a description of the field bus
system EtherNet/IP, exact information about function and structure of the gateway as well as
all bus-specific information concerning the connection to automation devices, the maximum
system extension etc.

The bus-independent I/O-modules for XI/ON as well as all further fieldbus-independent chap-
ters such as mounting, labelling etc. are described in separate manuals:
