From lab to production,
providing a window into the process

Loosen the knob on the rheometer swing arm and swing the arm so that the Laser
Micrometer is accessible.
In RheoSights Main Operation page, click the “Laser” button to open the Laser calibration
pop up window.
If a dialog box pops up requesting you to set the Laser communication, it means the Laser is
not connected to the Edge Device or the Port is not detected. This happens when the
connector is not properly connected on the Laser or the Edge Device or because the
connector is not detected by the Edge Device. (This can easily be resolved by following the
instructions on the alert message.) For the second case, try rebooting the Edge Device one
or two times. If that does not solve the problem, either your Edge Device does not have the
proper driver for the Laser or you need a replacement for the connector, contact Dynisco
for a solution.
If the Laser is set and values can be seen from the Main Operation page, you can perform a
calibration for the Laser if the precalibrated Laser is not giving good data. Take out the
standard calibration jig. Put the thinner side on the Laser and take the “Laser Value Low
(0.762mm)” by clicking the “Take Value” button on the right. Then put the thicker side on
the Laser and take the “Laser Value High (19.05mm)” by clicking the “Take Value” button
on the right. Finish the process by clicking “Calibrate”.
