7.6 ENGINE MAINTENANCE
The activities listed below are considered workshop maintenance and should only be performed by trained
personnel.
Before starting any maintenance work on the mower
, switch off the engine
and
allow it to cool down
, press the
CENTRAL STOP emergency button on the mower and
remove the key
. Also turn the remote control off using the
CENTRAL STOP on the remote control.
To prevent the engine from starting unexpectedly,
disconnect the negative (-) terminal on the battery.
The engine should only be repaired by an authorized dealer / service center with the appropriate tools, suitable
spare parts and expertise.
Follow the original engine operating instructions included in this technical manual package for repair, maintenance
and cleaning.
ENGINE CLEANING
Do not allow dirt to accumulate in the engine area. Pay special attention to the exhaust area, remove any
combustible material. It is forbidden to use high-pressure washing systems to clean the engine. This may damage
the engine. Do not attempt to clean any part of the engine while it is running. Stop the engine and allow it to cool
down.
If you notice the following, contact your service mechanic:
•
Excessive smoke
•
Excessive vibration
•
Excessive noise
•
Overheating
•
Unusual odors.
OIL LEAKAGE CHECK
Check the mower for any oil leaks before starting it:
1) Ensure that the mower operates safely.
2) Arrange for access to the engine area (if necessary)
3) Check the engine and area under the engine for any oil leaks.
4) Close the engine cover (if necessary).
OIL CHECK (LEVEL)
NOTE
: Operating the engine with insufficient oil can cause serious engine damage.
WARNING
If you cannot provide enough engine oil for any reason, do not continue driving. Switch off the engine and
consult a specialized service center. There is a risk of serious engine damage.
Engine Oil Level Check:
1) Ensure that the mower is on a level surface
2) Stop the engine and allow it to cool down.
3) Open the bonnet and pull out the dipstick.
4) Wipe the dipstick with a clean cloth and push it
back into the inspection hole as far as it will go.
5) Pull out the dipstick out again and read off the
oil level.
6) If the level is near or below the lower limit
mark, top off the recommended oil to the upper limit mark.
7) Slide the oil dipstick back and tighten.
