Your DishPro satellite receiver has an advanced satellite tuner. While it is
completely compatible with DishPro LNBFs and switches, its software may
need to be upgraded via satellite for it to fully function as designed and
provide all the many benefits of DishPro technology.

THESE
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Connect the new DishPro receiver to your existing DishPro system via
RG-6 coaxial cable rated for 950 to 2150 MHz
.
Note
: Some cables may say “Swept tested for 2150 MHz.” If you have
any doubt about this, ask your Dish retailer, or look on the container the
cable came in. Do not use cable company TV cables or cables from other
satellite TV systems not rated for 950-2150 MHz. These other cables may
cause signal loss. Do not use existing cable setups with cables such as
RG-59.
Note
: If any of your connections will be outdoors, be sure to use water-
proof F-connectors.
2. For the best and easiest installation, make sure your existing
receiver is turned On and still connected to the satellite dish.
Note
: If for some reason you do not have an existing receiver in your sys-
tem, follow this procedure anyway, omitting step #2.
3. Connect the receiver’s
TV Out
to your television’s RF tuner input
using coaxial cable. Check to see that the
Channel 3/4
switch on
the new receiver’s back panel is set to the same channel 3 or 4 as
your TV. Make sure both the receiver and TV are turned on.
4. You should see the
Point Dish/Signal
menu in the new receiver. If
you do not, open the
Main Menu
, and then press 6-1-1 on the
remote.
5. Look to make sure the number under
Transponder
is an odd num-
ber higher than 10 (for example, 11, 13, or 15). If you do not see an
odd number higher than 10, move the highlight to the box under
Transponder
and use the UP or DOWN ARROW on the remote to
change the number until it is an odd number higher than 10.
If you see the message,
Wrong Sat
, this is okay and does not indicate a
problem.
6. You should see a green bar indicating that the receiver has a signal.
Note
: If you do not see a green bar and you did not have an existing
receiver in the system (per step #2), direct connect the receiver to the
LNBF on the satellite dish making sure there are no switches between the
receiver and the LNBF. When you have finished this, go on to step #7.
