Troubleshooting
Please review the troubleshooting grids to remedy any minor issues you may be experiencing with Prodigy
ONE before contacting Directus for technical support. Often many of the issues user’s experience are as a
result of being unfamiliar with the operation of Prodigy ONE and the various settings/configuration options that
will enhance the operation in a given area.
Complaint or Problem

Prodigy ONE does not boot up or
stalls when booting up
Firmware update or changes to
the SDMMC card
Power down and reboot (may
require doing this action twice)
Blown power harness fuse or the
factory power fuse has blown
Have installation technician check
the Prodigy ONE and/or factory
power fuses. Replace as needed.
Plugs on Prodigy ONE or host
head unit have come loose or
unplugged
Review any recent service where
underdash or electrical work took
place. Remedy any loose plugs.
Screen/device response is slow
when pressing buttons quickly
Processor is multitasking and
needs to complete a operations
Simply give the Prodigy ONE a few
seconds to catch up to the speed
of your input commands
Prodigy ONE does not respond
to screen or remote commands
Operating system may have
locked up or stalled
Simply power down and reboot by
turning the ignition off and on again
Windows (Main Menu) time does
not match GPS Navigation time
Windows time screen has not
been set. GPS is automatic
Go to “Time” screen and set
correct time/date
General Operation
RF Remote Control Operation (if equipped)

(within 6.6 feet / 2 meters)
Prodigy ONE does not power
ON/OFF when the “Power” button
is pressed

Press “Power” for at least three

Vehicle is not turned on to the
“Ignition” or “Run” position
Turn the vehicle’s ignition on to
power up Prodigy ONE
Host head unit is not turned on or
screen is not activated
Ensure head unit is turned on and
vehicle is not in reverse (if back up
camera equipped)
Prodigy ONE does not switch
between Navigation and the Main
Menu Screen with “G” button
Not holding “G” button down long
enough
Press “G” button for one second
continuously then release
Navigation may not be running
yet if not “Auto Launched”
Start Navigation from Main Menu
first, then switch back after launch
