Windows® File Explorer
Prodigy ONE is based on a powerful and familiar Microsoft Windows® CE platform. It
brings the power of a personal computer to your vehicle and provides a sensible way
to manage all of the underlying Prodigy ONE functionality.
If you are familiar with a Windows based PC, you will recognize many of the same
features and functions in the Prodigy ONE’s Windows platform. Since many of the Prodigy
ONE features have direct access from the main menu screens, you may rarely need
to actually enter the File Explorer application.
How to use the File Explorer
In this application, there are two main uses for navigating the files and folders within the File Explorer.
Additionally there are certain options and preferences (common to all Windows PCs) that you can set from this
menu.
Here are the intended File Explorer uses:
►
Accessing a USB Hard Drive or Thumb Drive
- See what files are existing (particularly media files),
add/edit folders on that drive, delete files not needed, store any downloads from the Internet.
►
Setting Preferences in Control Panel
- As with all Windows based computers, a certain amount of
preference and options can be selected in the Control Panel application, which is accessed through File
Manager.
Double tap the RF remote’s touch pad section (or directly on the touch-screen if available) to access the Hard
Drive or Control Panel settings.
Beyond that, there is really no need to access any other folders or drives.
Accessing a USB Hard Drive or Thumb Drive
One of the main functions for which you will use File Explorer is to access any added storage
devices on the USB HOST connection. These would commonly be USB portable hard drives or
USB thumb drives, often to store any media files Prodigy ONE will play from the Media Player. This
will generally appear on the File Explorer as “Hard Disk” unless you’ve named your USB hard drive
something specific.
SDMMC and Resident Flash Access - Not Advised!
While the SDMMC (SD) card and Resident Flash drives both show up in File Explorer,
access to
these storage drives is not recommended
. Each contains important files and commands for
the normal and licensed use of Prodigy ONE and accompanying software. Accessing, moving,
changing, or attempting to open any of these files within SDMMC or Resident Flash drives is not
advised and can void the warranty of Prodigy ONE.
Please do not attempt to access, modify, or
otherwise browse these drives.
To browse media or
other stored files,
be sure to look for
the “Hard Disk” icon
to denote the USB
drive.
