Replacing or Cleaning the Filter
The air-filter prevents dust or dirt from getting inside the
projector and should be cleaned after every 100 hours of
operation (more often in dusty conditions). If the filter is dirty
or clogged, your projector may overheat.
NOTE: The message "Please clean the filters" will be displayed each
time the projector is turned on after it has been used in excess of 168
hours. Should this message appear, clean the filters as a matter of
urgency.
CAUTION
• Turn the projector off, wait 90 seconds, and then disconnect the
power cable, before cleaning the filter.
• Do not attempt to operate the projector without a filter.
• The projector contains high-precision parts, so make sure that no
dust or dirt can get into the cabinet during filter replacement. Clean
the outside of the cabinet before opening the rear cover.
To replace or clean the filter:
1. Loosen the rear cover fastening by turning it through 45° and open
the cover, using the support if the projector is upside down.
NOTE: There is an interlock on the rear cover to prevent the risk of
electrical shock. Do not attempt to circumvent this interlock.
2. Remove the single cross-headed screw securing the top edge of the
filter, and remove the filter.
3
Cleaning the Cabinet and the Lens
1. Turn off the projector before cleaning.
2. Clean the cabinet periodically with a damp cloth. If heavily soiled,
use a mild detergent. Never use strong detergents or solvents such
as alcohol or thinner.
3. Use a blower or lens paper to clean the lens, and be careful not to
scratch or mar the lens.
Filter
3. If the filter is severely clogged, or damaged, then it should be
replaced.
NOTE: Do not wash the filter with water, as this will damage the filter
membrane.
4. Clean the filter using a vacuum cleaner.
5. Install the new or cleaned filter by first locating the bottom edge into
the recess, then hinging the filter upwards. Secure the filter by
replacing the screw.
6. Close the rear cover firmly, ensuring that the catch clicks shut.
NOTE: After the filter has been changed, the message "Please clean
the filters" will continue to be displayed until the Filter Usage Meter has
been cleared
7. Following the instructions in Section 8, go to Page 5 in the Projector
Setup menu, and press the button marked “Clear Filter Usage Meter”.
