EPA07/10 DD PLATFORM WORKSHOP MANUAL - ENGINE

26.1 DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION OF THE OIL COOLANT MODULE

The oil

lter unit is an integral part of the oil coolant module. The oil coolant module is located

on the left side of the engine. The oil

lter unit ensures engine oil

ltering.

Engine oil

ows through the oil water heat exchanger and then to the main oil stream feed into the

oil

lter unit. Oil

ows into the oil

lter unit from outside of the oil coolant module through the

oil

lter element to the support dome where it is cleaned. The cleaned engine oil

ows to the

support dome and main oil

ow drain back into the oil circuit.
