In addition to these led messages, status can be monitored via the Terminal port and via the
DmView software. Depending on the configuration, LOS and AIS can be indicated via the alarm
led and relay.
When tests are being carried out on a tributary interface, this will be indicated via the TEST led
on the front panel.

4.4. E1 Interface Configurations
The following configurations are possible:
•
Alarm generation enabling for each E1 tributary.
•
Test enabling.
•
Tributary cascading (drop-insert).
4.5. Configuration Straps
DM4E1:
•
E01T to E04T – Grounding via transmission coaxial cable shield (OUT).
•
E01R to E04R – Grounding via reception coaxial cable shield (IN).
DM16E1:
•
E01T to E16T – Grounding via transmission coaxial cable shield (OUT).
•
E01R to E16R – Grounding via reception coaxial cable shield (IN).
Position C (connected): connects the coaxial cable shield to the frame ground.
Position I (isolated): does not ground the coaxial cable shield.
