4.6. Strap Location
The straps are located by the G.703 interface connectors. The figure below shows channel 01 and channel
13 as an example. Note that the DM4E1 model has RJ45 connectors as well as coaxial connectors.

4.7. Local Analog Loopback – LAL
The local analog loopback is used to test the analog part of the interface card circuits from a remote
location connected via the aggregate.
Data received at the analog interface are ignored. The figure below shows the test conditions.

4.8. Local Digital Loopback – LDL
The local digital loopback operates in both directions. The external E1 connection (G.703) can be tested
for each E1 interface. The figure below shows the test conditions.
In the DM4E1 model, when 120-ohm connections are used with RJ45 connectors, these straps should
remain set to position I.
