8.2. Operation via Terminal
The Bridge configuration consists of allocating channels inside the E3 aggregate tributary table to be used
by the Bridge, as well as port-specific configurations.
8.3. Configuration
Initially, the channels used as Bridge should be configured. This is carried out at the tributary table, as
shown in screen below:
The Bridge configured in this case is directed to the aggregate link. In Point to Point operations, it is
possible to choose whether or not to use the inverse multiplexing option; in Ring operations, the inverse
multiplexing option should be turned on (see item 8 for further details).
When directing the Bridge to G.703 tributaries, it is mandatory to use the inverse multiplexing system. In
the DM16E1 model, if a channel is configured as BG (Bridge) on the aggregate map, it is used as an
output for the Bridge.
DM4E1 uses the identifiers B1, B2, B3, and B4 to identify a Bridge channel being transmitted from the
G.703 tributaries numbers 1 to 4, respectively. These identifiers can be in any position on the aggregate
map.
The configuration of bridge_HW1 behavior is executed on the port’s setup screen, at the interface Bridge
part, according to the screen bellow:
