NOTE: Pay attention to the 25 needle roller bearing.
2. After moving horizontally the whole except jig (4) in cluster subassembly to carrier (9), make jig (5) be
inserted to hole of carrier (9).
3. Place on thrust bearing subassembly cluster gear (6).
4. Check alignment of pin (12) hole of shaft (11) and pin (12) hole of carrier (9). After aligning them in a
straight line, lightly tap shaft (11) with copper hammer, align jig (5) to hole of jig (3), and pull out under
jig (3).
NOTE: Prop jig (5) with rag from bottom not to fall first.
5. Check pin (12) hole of shaft (11) and pin
(12) hole of carrier (9) by the naked eye. If
holes are crisscrossed, align them using
jig (6). Drive pin (12) to 1 mm (0.04 in)
below the surface of carrier (9) by using
hammer and jig (9).
Using a punch, close end surface of pin
(12) hole of carrier (9) with two points 180
°
apart (Figure 77), to prevent pin (12) from
coming out.
6. Install the remaining two cluster gears (6)
by repeating the proceeding steps.
7. Turn over carrier subassembly so that
cluster No.1 spur gear is facing down.
8. When installation is completed, draw lines
on the upper surface of carrier (9) as
shown in Figure 78, to make cluster gear
phase easier. The three lines should all be
parallel.
Decision of Cluster Gear (6) Phase
1. Make mark "C" of cluster gear (6) of carrier
subassembly face like Figure 79.
NOTE: It is when phase indicated mark
is "C."
2. Insert jig (19) to make spline side face
upward like shown in Figure 79.
NOTE: Cluster gear (6) phase should
not be changed at clause (1).
