The
ip igmp snooping leave-time-out
Interface Configuration (VLAN) mode command configures the leave-
time-out. If an IGMP report for a multicast group was not received for a leave-time-out period after an IGMP Leave
was received from a specific port, this port is deleted from the member list of that multicast group.To return to the
default configuration, use the
no
form of this command.
Syntax
ip igmp snooping leave-time-out
{
time-out
|
immediate-leave
}
no ip igmp snooping leave-time-out
Parameters
•
time-out
— Specifies the leave-time-out in seconds for IGMP queries. (Range: 0-2147483647)
•
immediate-leave
— Indicates that the port should be immediately removed from the members list after
receiving IGMP Leave.
Default Configuration
The default leave-time-out configuration is 10 seconds.

User Guidelines
The leave timeout should be set greater than the maximum time that a host is allowed to respond to an IGMP
query.
Use
immediate leave
only where there is just one host connected to a port.
Example
The following example configures the host leave-time-out to 60 seconds.
