5.5 Hydraulic connections
•
Verify the presence of a magnesium anode in the
installation location.
• Typical system connection diagrams shown are indicative and not
binding as they have been drawn up by the designer of the system
onto which the appliance will be installed, in compliance with
installation regulations. The best system diagram for its use respects
limits imposed by data reported by the manufacturer.
• For installation of household water heaters it’s mandatory to respect
local rules and regulations. In particular it’s strongly recommend
to connect the tank to the hydryc net by means of hydraulic safety
unit, including at least one shut-off valve, one check valve, one
check valve control device, one safety valve, one hydraulic load stop
device and all accessories required for safe operation of the tanks
themselves.
• It’s strongly recommend to provide for an expansion system
correctly dimensioned for the tank volume respecting local rules and
regulations. If allowed by local rules and regulations, said expansion
system (for water heaters with temperature of generator lower or
equal to the boiling temperature of secondary fluid at the pressure
of 0.5 bar) can simply be made up of a counterweight or spring relief
valve, having an orifice diameter in millimetres of no less than:
5
V
V being the volume in litres of the tank, with a minimum of 15 mm. The
valve must be calibrated to a pressure of no higher than the maximum
operating pressure of the tank and connected without any off units. In
addition to the valve, to avoid constant opening of the valve and to avoid
unnecessary overloading of the tank, it is advisable to install a closed
non-toxic membrane expansion tank as shown in diagram.
• If the system exceeds the allowable pressure values, install a pressure
reducer as far away as possible from the tank itself.
• Generally, plants producing hot sanitary water must follow local
rules and regulations concerning water treatments, according to its
characteristics. The warranty does not cover any damage arising from
non-fulfilment of provisions of said local rules and regulations.
• Please note that the equipment should always be electrically grounded.
• The progressive consumption of the magnesium anode may vary
depending on operating conditions and the nature of the water.
5.6 Condensation outlet fitting
The condensation formed during heat pump operation flows through
the outlet tube that passes inside the insulating shell and comes out
of the rear of the machine. It must be connected to a duct so that the
condensation can flow properly. Fittings (not provided) shown in the
following figure can be used for connection to the duct. The outlet duct
must be fitted with a siphon
5.7 Tank drain
On the bottom of the tank there is a connection 1 "1/4 gas (F) for drain,
closed by threaded cap.
In case you need to connect a drain line, before filling, remove the
threaded cap and replace it with a curve or other elbow connection.
Attention: Do this operation before filling and without
exceeding the maximum allowed inclination of 45° for the
product.
5.8 Flange - Electric Heater and manual reset Thermostat
The electric heater is is immerged in the tank trought the flange, with
heating element bended downwards and is equipped with a safety
thermostat with manual reset.
To set the safety temperature for Electric Heater stop, set the regulation
knob in front of thermostat on the wanted temperature.
To manually reset the thermostat press the white pin with
a tip.
Manual reset
For thermostat replacement proceed as follows:
1. Make sure the unit is off and the power line is disconnected.
2. Remove the plastic protection
3. Disconnect the wiring from the thermostat of the electric heater and
the counter-flange
4. Remove the thermostat from the electric heater and replace it with a
new thermostat.
Repeat the steps in reverse order to restore wiring and plastic cover,
taking care to respect the order of the connections.
For inspection trought flange and for electric resistance replacement
proceed as follows:
• Perform the operations described above (at points 1, 2 and 3).
• Make sure that the water tank has been emptied of water content
• Unscrew the counter flange fixing screws
