9.1
General
If the Nortec GS humidifier needs to be removed from service (for disposal or long-term storage), strictly
follow all instructions in this chapter.
Personnel Qualifications
Decommissioning of the Nortec GS humidifier must only be performed by a qualified service technician
authorized by the customer. It is the customer's responsibility to verify qualifications of the personnel.
Safety
Decommissioning of the Nortec GS humidifier will require personnel to access the inside of the control
and plumbing cabinets in the humidifier, which may expose personnel and equipment to the hazards
described below.
DANGER!
Risk of fire or explosion!
The Nortec GS is a gas-fired humidifier.
Improper decommissioning can cause an explosion,
fire or other hazards that can cause serious injury, death or property damage.
Any work on the gas system must only be performed by a
qualified installer, service agency or your
local gas supplier.
What to do if You Smell Gas:
DO NOT try to light any appliance.
DO NOT touch any electrical switch.
DO NOT use any phone in the building.
Leave the building immediately.
Call your gas supplier immediately from a location far away from the building with the gas leak.
Follow the gas supplier's instructions.
If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire department.

Risk of electric shock!
The
Nortec GS humidifier is mains powered. Live parts may be exposed when the access
panels are removed. Touching live parts may cause severe injury or even death.
