Client Program/Application Bypass (Step 4c)
When ComSifter is in Proxy Mode, any application accessing the ComSifter must use proxy settings of
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080
. All current browsers have the ability to set their operation to proxy mode. Many
non-web-based applications will use the proxy settings entered in the browser when accessing the ComSifter.
Problems can arise when the non-web-based applications (Windows/Apple operating system updates, anti-
virus updates, etc.) do not follow the proxy settings or do not have a method of setting proxy mode. In these
cases, the domain/URL that the application is accessing must be entered into the Application Bypass List. If a
domain/URL is in this list, then the proxy will be bypassed and the application will be able to connect with the
domain/URL it is trying to access.

of the filter that contains

below for assistance in determining what names should
be entered.
