Downloading a phonebook
automatically
With this setting, the unit updates the
phonebook automatically when you connect
the cellphone.

[Auto Download Phonebook]
The setting is set to update the
phonebook of cellphone registered as
the hands free phone automatically.
(Default: OFF)
If the phonebook is not registered,
the unit will starts updating when the
unit is turned on at the next time.
Notice
• The phonebook can not be downloaded
while playing the Bluetooth audio,
receiving an incoming call, or in call.
• After completed to downloading the
phonebook, the previous downloaded
data is overwritten, and cannot be used.
MEMO:
• If the setting is set to ON, the phonebook
is updated automatically when:
-
You registered a new cellphone as the
hands free phone.
-
The vehicle’s engine key is turned
to “ACC” or “ON” position, and the
connection of cellphone is established.
-
You switch the cellphone connected as
the hands free phone.
• The setting can be set for each cellphone.

Registering a phonebook
You can register the phonebook on a
cellphone in advance to the unit, and make
calls from there.
To register the phonebook on a cellphone,
use the phonebook download function
on the cellphone. With some cellphones,
phonebooks cannot be downloaded.
For details, refer to the User’s Manual for
the cellphone.
MEMO:
• After a phonebook is downloaded, the
cellphone connection is sometimes
disconnected. If this happens, select the
cellphone you want to connect to again
from the telephone selection screen.

Download Phonebook
MEMO:
• If phonebook data has already been
registered,
Download Memory
is
displayed.

Select the download method.
Download Phonebook:
This downloads the phonebook
data from a Bluetooth-compatible
cellphone and overwrites and
saves the phonebook data on the
unit.
Note that the previous downloaded
data is overwritten and can no
longer be used.
Download 1 Entry:
This downloads the phonebook
data from a Bluetooth-compatible
cellphone and adds and saves
this data to the phonebook data
on the unit. Note that the previous
downloaded data is not overwritten
and can still be used.
Cancel:
This cancels the download and
returns you to the previous screen.

Download the phonebook from a
cellphone.
The phonebook of the currently
selected cellphone is downloaded to
the unit.
MEMO:
• Up to 1,000 phonebook entries can be
registered per cellphone.
• Up to five telephone numbers can
be displayed for each name in the
phonebook.
• When downloading from a cellphone,
even the same telephone numbers are
always added and registered, and are not
overwritten. Delete telephone numbers, as
required.
• The display order of the downloaded
phonebook differs from the order
displayed in the cellphone. Entries are
sorted alphabetically by last name.
