MAC Address Clone
MAC Cloning
The gateway's MAC address is a 12-hexadecimal digit code assigned to a unique
piece of hardware for identification. Your service provider may require that you
register the MAC address of your network card/adapter, which was connected to
your cable or DSL modem during installation. If so, find your adapter's MAC
address by following the instructions for your PC's operating system.
For Windows 98 and Millennium:

Click the
Start
button; then, select
Run
.

Type
winipcfg
in the field provided, and press the OK key.

Select the Ethernet adapter you are using.

Write down your adapter's MAC address:

cmd
in the field provided, and press
OK
.

At the command prompt, type
ipconfig /all
and press
Enter
to determine
your adapter's physical address.

Write down your adapter's MAC address:

Clone your network adapter's MAC address onto the gateway:

Enable
.

Enter your adapter's MAC address in the MAC Address field.

Click the
Save Settings
button.
To disable MAC address cloning, select the default setting,
Disable
. Click the
Save
Settings
button to save your configuration.
