Chapter 2 Cisco TelePresence System 1100 Room Recommendations
Minimum Room and Table Dimensions
•
If you install two CTS 1100 systems in rooms that share a wall, you must not mount the systems on
the same wall; mount the two CTS 1100 systems on separate walls.
•

The following recommendations or guidelines ensures that you have the best possible conferencing
experience:
•
A white room is acceptable but not recommended for the best experience. Neutral colors work best
for the floors and walls.
You can use color, décor, and signage in the room to communicate your brand and corporate identity.
Cisco recommends that you do not use colors with high contrast.

Normal office lighting is usually sufficient for a good conferencing experience. However, Cisco
recommends that you perform the following actions for the best experience:

Use indirect florescent lighting and avoid any direct lighting.

If your room has windows, install shades to reduce glare, especially for any windows that are
directly behind the participants.

The CTS 1100 was designed to well in an office with normal sound levels. Large rooms, or rooms
with high ceilings, can cause echo and reverberation issues. For more information about acoustics,
see the
“Acoustic Recommendations” section on page 2-4

Minimum Room and Table Dimensions
Use the following size guidelines when selecting a room for your CTS 1100:
•
The minimum room size is 8 feet x 8 feet x 14 feet (2.4 meters x 2.4 meters x 4.3 meters).This
minimum dimension assumes that one edge of the table sits against the left or right wall of the room,
relative to the CTS 1100.

The minimum distance between the edge of the wall where you install the CTS 1100 and the table
is 52 inches (132 cm); minimum distance between the edge of the CTS 1100 screen and the table is
44 inches (112 cm).
•
Conference participants should sit between 8 and 12 feet (2.4 and 3.7 meters) from the display. The
ideal distance is 8 feet (2.4 meters).
•
This table is five feet (1.5 meters) in diameter.
