10.3 Identifying the camera status using CST
If you want to get more detailed information on the current camera condition, you can check
the camera status using CST.
To get a quick camera state feedback, do one of the following:
On the
Advanced
menu, click
Get current camera state
, or on the toolbar, click
Show camera state and reset errors
(see section 6.17).
On the toolbar click
Show settings
, and then click
Camera information
in the
tree view:
If an error occurs, the camera shows an error message and resets
Error state
afterward.
Therefore
Error state
is >0 only in case of a permanent error, for example if the temperature is
above the allowed maximum value.
Camera state is subdivided into four groups of four bits with the following meaning:
Bits 15…12
Bits 11..8
Bits 7..4
Bits 3..0
If continuous white control is enabled,
this value is >0 if white control is
temporarily disabled due to a specified
condition.

10.4 Camera overheating protection
For safety reasons the camera is equipped with an internal three-step overheating protection.
Step 1: high-temperature warning:
If the camera-internal temperature increases above the defined limit, the camera indicates
this warning status:

Status LED of the camera turns red

The camera returns error state 0x3d or 0x3e
Let the camera cool down and check the environment. Improve cooling conditions of the
camera if necessary.
